ReBranding the Lofts @ NoHo Commons!
We are delighted to announce that the rebranding of the Lofts at Noho Commons in North Hollywood’s Arts District is in its third and last phase and will be complete by the end of 2018!
The building is a difficult one to miss, thanks to the bold and inspiring artwork by French artist Thierry Noir that decorates the buildings west and south facades. Noir was living in Berlin during the time the Berlin Wall was erected. Many recognize the Berlin Wall for its graffitied facade and Noir was among the first to do so. According to Noir, he “lived close to the wall. It was depressing – the death strip, watch towers and soldiers coming and going, that was my view. I wanted to change something. So I started to paint. I wanted to make some statement against it, to resist the pressure of that life and sadness.” As painting on the wall was forbidden, Noir developed a style he called “Fast Form Manifest” which consisted of him quickly painting figures with one line and, then, disappearing as quickly as he could. The NoHo Lofts installation is entitled “Freedom Boulevard” and the mural is 300 feet long and meant to mark the 50th anniversary of Berlin and Los Angeles as sister cities. It depicts Noir’s signature elongated cartoon heads in profile, each measuring eight, or more, feet tall and drawn with bright colored eyes and bulbous lips. It is his largest public mural to date and with it he hopes to make a statement against border walls as well as to elevate the spirits of those who pass by.
But the Lofts at NoHo Commons doesn’t have just a pretty face! It also has gorgeous loft-style units and boasts a large fitness facility, an Olympic sized swimming pool with BBQ’s, cabana lounges, bocce ball, and a “central park” courtyard offering an outdoor movie area, dining, ping pong, and lounging opportunities. The final rebranding phase includes a gorgeous Community Lounge amenity with a kitchen, library, conference facility, Wifi workroom, and a game lounge. The adjoining NoHo Commons is a convenient place for shopping, work, fitness, dining, entertainment, and with the Orange and Red Line Metro station adjacency, the residents at the Lofts at NoHo Commons can easily explore the greater Los Angeles area and have transportation at their fingertips!
